The Unconscious Mind
The most important roles of the Unconscious mind in my journey.
-
Stores Memories – all your memories are stored at the unconscious level, even the ones you don’t consciously remember
-
Runs the body – it holds a blueprint of your perfect health
-
Preserves the body – it maintains the integrity of the body
-
Is the domain of the emotions
-
Enjoys serving and needs clear orders to follow – to be given by the conscious mind
-
Controls and maintains all perceptions
-
Generates, stores, distributes and transmits “energy”
-
Maintains instincts and generates habits
-
Is programmed to continually seek more and more. If something feels good the unconscious mind wants more of a good thing
-
Takes everything personally. This means that any judgment you have of others, it stores as a judgment of yourself.
-
Works on the principal of least effort
-
Does not process negatives directly.
Given these roles, you can see that having communication with your unconscious mind is necessary to understand why you do what you do.
Mindful Eating requires having the unconscious mind aligned with your desires.
So you want to lose weight!
Well why is it there in the first place? Do you know?
What does this weight help you do or help you avoid doing?
What does it steer you toward or away from?
What does it have you be or prevent you from being?
Is there a different question you can ask yourself and always ask it’s flip side too.
It is important for you to understand that one of the main directives (roles) of the unconscious mind is to look after and run your body. Do you consciously make your heart beat, or take that breath? Do you consciously digest your food and move the nutrients through you body? This is not the role of your conscious mind but rather the role of your unconscious mind.
Have a look at my article about the prime directives of the unconscious mind.
I bring this up because, if the unconscious mind has the blueprint of you perfect health, and will always be working for your good, what has happened that has lead you to this place of ill health and perhaps obesity.
Well there is a reason and perhaps even several. Have an honest think about the top couple of questions.
Without discovering and shifting what is happening at the unconscious level you may be battling an unwinnable battle, the result of which is a drop of self esteem, self worth but definitely not weight.
So the first step to your weight loss solution, to return your body to its perfect health is to find out why it is in this state right now.
Post me any questions or thoughts you may have.
